Although I really enjoyed the other two feeds that I have been reading the past few weeks, I have to admit that the Scientific American was my favorite blogging site. I was fascinated by this blog because I really enjoy science and the way that this website published the news concerning science and the earth. One of the articles that enlightened me the most was Tough Choices: How Making Decisions Tires Your Brain. This article discussed that when we make choices that take an extended amount of time, we draw resources from a limited capacity in the brain. Therefore, when this resource is exhausted by one activity or one decision our mental capacity is hindered in another activity or decision. Besides articles about health, there are also articles that deal with space and technology, earth and the environment, global warming, wildlife, stress, and green technology. Besides articles this website has other informative ways including editor’s pick, podcasts, slideshows, and videos. One of the most active discussions was Dark Knight Shift, which tells us why Batman could exist but not for long. This website also displays a new quote each day from a different writer. Bradley said, “Attempting to make your wishful thinking and culturally acquired delusions somehow equivalent to science will not make you any smarter or knowledgeable about the real world.” The Scientific American is a blog that I am definitely going to keep so that I may grow as a writer, reader, and thinker because this blog tells me about the world in the way that I like to learn and the way the authors write their blogs is absolutely moving. I can only dream to achieve my goals by learning from others and this blog can help me do so.
