The Times is one of the most widely read newspapers, magazines, and websites in the world. Even though The Times existed before my parents, grandparents, and possibly great grandparents, I have just recently been introduced to it. By reading and scanning the blog I have found that a lot of the articles deal mainly with the economy and politics.  When randomly glancing at titles I see Zimbabwe Leaders Will Sign Deal and EU Offers to Cut Farm Tariffs and Obama Views Baghdad with Petraeus.  One of the many articles that captivated my attention was A KFC to Give the Colonel Indigestion.  This article discussed an imitation of America’s Kentucky Fried Chicken over in Kabul called Kabul’s Fried Chicken.  The owner apparently got the secret recipe off of the black market and opened up his own restaurant where he serves different foods than what we serve here in America at our KFC.  I also read an intriguing article titled Facebook Gets a Facelift.  This article talked about how Facebook, just like MySpace, is creating a whole new look for users. This article sparked my interest since I am a participant of Facebook and I had no knowledge about the new changes to be made. Even though I don’t usually stop and read articles like the one The Times publishes, such as farming and political endeavors, I still found myself being drawn into them, so I plan to keep reading The Times blog.  I feel that it is important to know what is going on around the world, especially since I am living in it, and hopefully by reading this blog occasionally I can aspire to do so.
