What does the average person think of when hearing the word salon? Personally, I picture random women in a pink beauty shop who are sitting in plastic chairs and gossiping. In reality The Salon is a popular blog with over 50,000 subscribers, including myself. By reading this blog every other day I have developed some interesting opinions. Sometimes I read some really captivating articles such as the article I survived – now how do I survive my survival, which is an article about how a person deals with life after surviving cancer. Another article that enchanted me was called Hey Emmy voters don’t forget, which is an article about some great actors and actresses that get overlooked when the Emmy’s come around. On the other hand I have read some articles that are rather unique. For example Steve explains the gravitational pull of our buttocks in the article Opus. Through all of these articles I have found that the writers that make up this blog put a lot of their personality into it. I enjoy reading the authors articles about entertainment and relationships because they relate to me in a minor way. Though not as much as the other articles, I also enjoy reading the about politics and the economy because even if I don’t recognize it they really affect me. I fully plan to continue reading this blog because I like the blog’s content and the blog’s writing style. The Salon has also expanded my views on different topics affecting the world around me which can only positively affect me and the person I am going to be.
